Math, Science and Engineering in the Popular Media

Popular media helps shape our perceptions of the world. Through books, radio, film, and television, we gain glimpses into the world of science.

Historically, media such as Jules Verne's Trip to the Moon, Isaac Asimov's Fantastic Voyage, H.G. Wells War of the Worlds, or the Star Trek series have opened doors to the wonders of science.

How many of us began exploring engineering, science, or mathematics by playing with Erector Sets, constructing lands with Lego bricks, reading science fiction, or watching documentaries about outer space or the natural kingdom?
