FEATURES

Above: CONCEPT SCREENSHOT OF GAMEMAVEN INTERFACE

* Systems Thinking terminology and concepts –
These will be the backbone language of all the modeling options and strategy guide writing options in GameMaven, to encourage as much familiarity and use with the language as possible. Some terms may possibly have to be rephrased in more “youth-friendly” form.
* Comprehensive and automated support for GameFAQ writing –
GameMaven should include the option to support the fan-writing of GameFAQs and strategy guides through an automated template and scripting program (similar to the “Wizard” programs available in Microsoft Office applications). This would be extremely attractive to fans in reducing the time and effort needed in this usually laborious task, and also will allow a close embedding of systems thinking concepts and visuals (complete with automatic help links) in guide text produced. The final format must be easily distributable online or offline without requiring GameMaven (e.g. as an html format), but must also be easily recognizable as GameMaven and using systems thinking – this will maximize the attraction of new players to the gamer systems thinking community.
* Customizable multi-window/multi-module screen interface –
Adaptable to level of complexity and age. Modular format allows easy integration into established fan community websites and game companies’ online portals.
* Comprehensive community support –
Key to this project is the fostering and support of vibrant discursive communities – all modeling components should be closely combined with chatroom or online shared interactive workspace elements.
* Dynamic interactive modeling workspaces –
The systems models produced by players in shared online workspaces or individually must have the option to be interactive and dynamic. There could be an option to record “movies” of actual game sequences and combine this footage with a recorded system model run.
* Customizable Visuals –
Systems and modelng icons, workspace backgrounds etc. should be fully customizable to allow inclusion of graphics relevant to specific games and exciting to players – this will underline the relevance of GameMaven to game fans and will encourage a more personalizes relationship.
