Biology
Replicate! is designed to be used in AP-Level or Introductory college level Biology courses. Some of the immunology and virology content is also applicable to advanced immunology and virology courses and could be adapted for use in advanced biological study.

While Replicate! does simulate many of the human body's responses to infectious disease, it is critical to note that the game is not a simulation of the human body. The relative size of the virus is distorted during the migration phase in order to make navigating through the body playable. Such simplifications are common to conceptual models. While the game has been designed to prevent supporting common misconceptions, it is important for educators to supplement students' learning with supporting lectures and demonstrations.

Portions of the AP exam included in Replicate include:

Cells

1. Prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells
2. Membranes
3. Subcellular organization
4. Cell cycle and its regulation

Molecular Genetics

1. RNA and DNA structure and function
2. Gene regulation
3. Mutation
4. Viral structure and replication
5. Nucleic acid technology and applications
